How far in advance should I order? The sooner, the better! Cakes are booked in first-come, first-served basis. Therefore, it is best to provide as many details and pay the retainer to secure your date as soon as possible. My calendar fills up quickly, so it is recommended to inquire a minimum of 2 weeks, or, the best 4-6 weeks in advance of your event. For retirement cakes or quinceañera orders it is best to inquire several months in advance.

What does Cottage Food Operated Business mean?Cottage Food Law allows me to work from home out of my kitchen and is exempt from state licensing and inspection. With that being said, I still need to follow some rules. I do have my New Mexico Food Handler Certificate. Unfortunately, I'm not allowed put alcohol in my baked goods (which is the main reason why I'm unable to make the Schwarzwälder Kirschtorte (blackforest cake)). I can't work with fresh fruit cuts, which is the reason why I don't advertise fresh cut strawberry filling, or any other cut fruit fillings. As long as they are baked in my baked goods, we are good to go. I am not allowed to work with cream cheese, therefore I won't offer any cream cheese buttercream.
